Goal for course

The objective of this training is to provide persons who will operate work equipment referred to in Section 10-3 of the Regulations concerning the Performance of Work with a fundamental understanding of the safe use of such equipment.
Participants shall acquire the basic theoretical knowledge required for the safe operation of forklift trucks, enabling them to avoid accidents and incidents during use.
In addition, each participant shall complete a practical assessment to demonstrate that they have acquired sufficient operating skills to independently carry out a variety of work tasks using the relevant forklift trucks in a safe and responsible manner.

Intake requirements

18 years of age: May normally operate a forklift truck independently in regular work activities.
Apprentices and upper secondary school students may, in certain circumstances, operate a forklift truck before reaching the age of 18, provided they have received the necessary training and are working under appropriate supervision.

Terminal operators and terminal workers, Production workers in industrial and workshop environments, Employees within retail, wholesale, and distribution businesses, Port and transportation workers, Construction and civil engineering workers who use forklift trucks, Supervisors and foremen responsible for planning and overseeing forklift operations, Safety representatives, HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) personnel,
Apprentices in logistics, industrial, and technical trades, Individuals seeking employment within warehousing, logistics, transportation, and industrial sectors

Final exam

Final Practical Assessment

Upon completion of the practical training, the certified training provider shall conduct a final practical assessment.

The training provider shall use its own qualified instructor to carry out the final practical assessment in the operation of forklift trucks.

The assessment shall ensure that the candidate possesses sufficient knowledge and practical skills in the following subjects, in accordance with the manufacturer's operating instructions:
Types of forklift trucks and associated attachments.
The construction and operating principles of the forklift truck.
Daily inspection and pre-use checks.
Stability principles.
Load handling and goods transportation.
Operating procedures and safety regulations.
The final practical assessment shall be graded as Pass or Fail.
The practical assessment shall cover all learning objectives included in the training programme and shall be conducted in accordance with established assessment procedures and examination guidelines.

Diploma

A Course Certificate and a Certificate of Competence will be issued upon successful completion of the training and assessments.
